The work placement for people in training or already on the job market is in
a period of vocational training and or work experience undertaken by
a beneficiary (apprentice, pupil, trainee, employee, or self-employed
people available on the labour market) in an institution, company or
training institute.
It allows the young person to enter a work environment to test, or
verify his career choices; it certify practical experience that
will enrich his CV, and at the same time allows the company to
meet potential collaborators to include in future in their own staff
and train them specifically;
The importance of this experience has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of Labor that attributed to the work placement the value of "training credit".
Accademia Europea di Firenze (AEF), as an accredited training agency within the field of guidance and job placement, has been carrying out planning, consultancy and management activities regarding international job placement projects since 1992, respecting quality standards that are established and shared at the international level, within pilot projects and disseminaton projects.
Thanks to the TACTIC project (Tools for managing and mentoring the international work placements to guarantee the recognition of the competences acquired and the quality of the learning process) funded by the European Union (LLP_LDV KEY4), AEF was able to review and integrate the Qualitynet manual, elaborated between 1996 and 1998, and adopt the new version, which carries the name of the project, from 2008. The manual can be consulted with no charge on the website http://tactic.dep.net
The management of the international job placements in Florence, with the support of community funds like PETRA II, Leonardo da Vinci I and II phase, LLP-Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus, FSE, has involved thousands of foreign youths and adults coming from all 27 countries of the European Union.
As an example, in 2009 the foreign participants received by AEF who carried out job placement experiences in Italian companies were 350 and the Italian scholarship holders sent abroad were 320.
The know how acquired by AEF refers to the different phases managed during the international work placement, both in sending and receiving, which are:
Planning of job placements with reference to the different European and national calls for proposals
Search for “ad hoc” companies and international partners
Informing and recruiting potential candidates
Selection and guidance of the candidates
Linguistic, cultural and intercultural preparation
Definition of a job placement contract between the hosting company and the trainee
Company insertion and tutoring
Realisation of socio-cultural activities
Follow up and evaluation of the experience
Final certification
Furthermore, AEF has developed know how and a network of relations and company contacts that is unique in the national panorama and capable of responding to training needs with diverse target typologies and in innovative and avant-garde market sectors.
